Grrrrrrrrr Raspians! (That’s the sound of a Zombie from Minecraft, right?)

Anyone who’s been to our Christchurch Raspberry Jams will know that the meeting regulars are big fans of Minecraft. So we thought it was about time to do some Python programming in Minecraft. Why the heck not!

You can do all sorts of things in Minecraft with Python. Create a Nokia-esque Snake game, create a giant clock or build an entire building from the command line!!! So bring as much Pi gear as you can and we’ll supply the rest. We’ll also have 2 tech lord Python programmers on hand to help with any questions.

Christchurch Raspberry Jam – April 2014

Ninja Pi Crust outline

Hey there Raspians!

We’re well into Autumn now and it’s time for another Raspberry Jam meet-up in Christchurch, New Zealand. This meeting I’m going to be demonstrating what I’ve been up to lately with my new hardware from Sydney based Ninja Blocks, the Ninja Pi Crust.

Ninja Blocks create tiny cloud enabled computers that can sense their environment by receiving input from a variety of sensors & can affect their surroundings by controlling lights, power sockets, and other actuators. I bought one so that if my wife and I were ever out and about and were worried about something being accidently left on at home, for example a hair straightener, we can turn it off remotely. There are many other uses just check out their website for more info.

The next meeting is Wednesday, 30th April 2014 at Treshna in the EPIC building. Click here for more info.
